The folks at The Quilt Shoppe are sponsoring a bingo game on their blog with really nice prizes!
Hop on over and choose your words! Should be fun:)
I usually try to have a finish for Sew & Tell Fridays (see the link in the side bar) but I didn’t get anything done for today. Instead I’ll share something I learned about blogger this week. I am a rank amateur at HTML, so this may be overly simple for some of you. Anyway, did you look at the sidebar? Do you see how all the little buttons are lined up and centered? Prior to adding this one, all my buttons were on the left side of the sidebar.
The buttons used to link somewhere else are written in HTML code. The code for this button had some added tags (that’s what the instructions are called) that centered it in the sidebar. I can barely find my way around with HTML, but this was pretty simple. Here’s what you do:
If you’re afraid you’re going to totally mess up and delete the button code while you’re fooling around, just copy and paste the code somewhere temporarily (I use Notepad) before you do anything else.
At the beginning of the code add <center>
At the end of the code add </center>
You have to add both for it to work. So if you want all your sidebar buttons centered nicely, that’s all there is to it! If you’d rather have the buttons over to the left side, take out the center tags. I hope this information was useful for some of you. My knowledge is limited but I’m happy to share:)

There’s a giveaway opportunity at mequilter to win a copy of this software. I’ve never used any of these products, but it does look like a great tool for quilters. You can read about the software at The Electric Quilt Company. Good luck! For some additional giveaways, click on the top link in the right sidebar.
For those of you who expressed concern for poor Chuck, he’s all healed up and good as new. He was not thrilled to go back to the vet for a groom and shots today. I can’t blame him! Too bad the other two humans in the house are sick as dogs. Blah:(
This is why my life as a mother has always been interesting.
They were both gymnasts, but not cheerleaders. I do think they’re princesses, though:) They’re not cowgirls. Or line dancers. Or criminals. Just glamorous… ..and the craziest, best daughters in the world! Love you:)
Amylouwho has a brand new baby!

I joined a potholder swap at A Stitch In Dye and thought I’d practice a little before making the ones for my swap partner. I’m getting a lot of mileage out of my Hushabye scraps. No plan in mind here. Since these were to be mine, I machine stitched the binding. Not very neat, but functional.
Thanks to Tonya at Lazy Gal Quilting, I’ve developed a curiosity for free piecing. A small project, like a potholder, seemed to be a good candidate for my first try. I had just finished piecing my Wonky Boxes top and had Pretty Please (Jennifer Paganelli) pieces handy, so I made a little house from this tutorial.
That was fun! Feeling pretty confident, I made some letters from this tutorial.
The bindings on these were finished by hand to look neater. We needed to use Insul Bright for the swap and I added an additional layer of batting for more protection. They went slightly out of square after I washed them. I think they’re kind of wild and fun! I hope my swap partner likes them:)

On a different note, poor Chuck is back in the puppy hospital with another round of inflammation/infection in his gastro system. What did he eat this time? Not good for Chuck or the checkbook! I hope he can come home today. I miss the little guy.
Chuck is a Dachshund/Pekingese mix. Dach-a-peke? Peke-a-dach? Dachingese? I think his life before he came to us about 9 years ago was very interesting, but he’s not telling. I know he spent some time as a stray. He’s my buddy even if he does love his daddy best!
This is my 100th post! The giveaway’s at the bottom of this post, but I wanted to share our crazy weather from yesterday.
These photos of Interstate 24 that runs through Nashville were taken late yesterday afternoon. This is about 40 miles northwest of us.
There have been 5 known fatalities and hundreds of evacuations with more storms in the area today.
A portable building from a school floats down I-24.
We are fortunate to be on the eastern edge of this storm path and not getting the heavy rains or tornado threats. This is a still radar shot from earlier this morning. The storms have been tracking mostly north and not so much east, so it looks like we’ll be okay for today.
Stay safe out there people!
I can’t believe I’ve posted 100 times! It’s been fun to share and be part of such a great blogging community. Thanks to my readers and followers for making it so:) And thanks to all the talented people who I learn from every day!
