High water and a giveaway!

This is my 100th post! The giveaway’s at the bottom of this post, but I wanted to share our crazy weather from yesterday.

These photos of Interstate 24 that runs through Nashville were taken late yesterday afternoon. This is about 40 miles northwest of us.

image

There have been 5 known fatalities and hundreds of evacuations with more storms in the area today.

image

A portable building from a school floats down I-24.

We are fortunate to be on the eastern edge of this storm path and not getting the heavy rains or tornado threats.  This is a still radar shot from earlier this morning. The storms have been tracking mostly north and not so much east, so it looks like we’ll be okay for today.

Stay safe out there people!

  1. That is some serious flooding! It looks terrible. :( Good to hear you're safe, though.

  2. It is so scary just thinking about being in that kind of flooding! We had it bad here, too. My husband went for an early morning breakfast in Jackson, TN and had much trouble getting home. I told him to stay home! Ironically, the group was meeting for their annual memorial to 3 family members that perished in the Jackson tornados in 2002, none of them felt it important to stay home and guard their lives. Oh well, he is home safe, that is all that matters!
    Congrats on your 100th post!

  3. That flooding is awful. I live in a town that felt the effects of spring flooding and I know how quickly waters can rise and cause trouble! Glad you are safe and not in the area of heavy rains. Now on a positive note.....Congratulations on your 100th post! The blogging community is great!!! Here's to the 200 posts!

  4. Prayers to you for safe keeping that you all will not see any damage from this storm. And for the lovedones that have lost family memebers in those storms. They are heading our way by tonight and we hear it will be bad, up to 4" over night. Sure to be flooding.

Congrats to you on your posting! Bless your fingers. Happy blogging to you.

  22. We also live in Tennessee but in West TN. Paris, TN (Henry Co) All of the counties surrounding us... Carroll, Stewart & Benton had significant damage and road closures. It was pretty scary. In our little town it was not as bad but, my heart goes out to all of the people afffected by this. It is just devastating. :( And the Opryland Hotel....the shots on tv are just depressing!

Oh I LOVE THE MAKE LIFE fabric line! Its hard to find cute designs that aren't too girly. I have 3 boys and this would be PERFECT for a quilt for one of them. :)

    What a great giveaway! Thanks!

I live in Maine and within the space of one week we had temps ranging from 18 to 80 degrees! I'm concerned the world is really going to end with a sudden ice age, and since I'm only prepared for the zombie apocalypse, I'm kind of concerned! :P
